Oproep van 70 partijen: Nederlandse aanpak voor wereldwijde voedselzekerheid werkt!

Een brede coalitie van Nederlandse bedrijven, kennisinstellingen en maatschappelijke organisaties wil samen met het nieuwe kabinet optrekken om echt een verschil te maken voor het verbeteren van wereldwijde voedselzekerheid. Het ondersteunen van boeren en consumenten in Nederland en daarbuiten en de inzet voor klimaat-weerbare voedselsystemen in lage- en middeninkomenslanden staan daarbij centraal. De coalitie is van mening dat Nederland vanuit haar kennis, kunde, ervaring, internationale samenwerkings- en handelspositie de komende jaren ambitieuze inzet moet tonen in de verduurzaming van ons voedselsysteem, om zo bij te dragen aan het behalen van het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs en de Sustainable Development Goals.

International Responsible Business Conduct

On October 12th 2023, the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) organized the World Food Day event at the Rijtuigenloods in Amersfoort. FoodFIRST was also present during the afternoon to facilitate a workshop on the topic of International Responsible Business Conduct (IRBC). This topic was selected in alignment with the overall theme of World Food Day: recognizing the role of the private sector in creating sustainable food systems. Manon Wolfkamp, Ruud van Soelen (Social Economic Council), and the NFP collaborated to lead the workshop.

Africa “beyond its post-traumatic stress”

The recent foodFIRST ‘Vijverbergsessie’ on June 29th, titled "Africa "beyond its post-traumatic stress'': Towards a New Policy Discourse on Africa", focused on the government's new Africa strategy for 2023-2032. The session featured Koert Lindijer and Dorette Corbey as speakers. The dialogue demonstrated once again that it is clear that we need to move away from traditional development cooperation policy. But what role could or should a Dutch Africa strategy have in this new context?
